The Municipality of Meaford is situated on the southern shore of Georgian Bay between Thornbury and Owen Sound. This charming rural community offers something for everyone. Live theatre concerts, a beautiful harbour, fantastic restaurants and plenty of outdoor space to explore. Known as apple country, you can find homemade baked goods in many local shops and restaurants.
Meaford is home to the Canadian Army training facility, 4th Canadian Division Training Centre (4 CDTC). In any given week, they have on average over 600 soldiers in training. Military units from the United States, New Zealand, Jamaica, United Kingdom and many others have taken advantage of what they have to offer.
